The State of Hawaii, through its Medicaid Agency, the Department of Human Services (DHS), Med-QUEST Division (MQD), is requesting proposals from qualified organizations to provide Kokua services that includes performing outreach and application assistance for uninsured or underinsured Hawaii residents who may be eligible for health insurance coverage options available through the Medicaid program or the federal health insurance marketplace. The initial contract term will be from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.

The Hawaii Department of Health (DOH) Office of Health Care Assurance (OHCA) and the Hawaii Department of Human Services (DHS) Med-QUEST Division (MQD) are excited to announce the upcoming launch of the Hawaii Background Check System (HI BCS) to assist facilities and the providers to comply with the background check requirements by providing a central internet-based method of applying for a background check and to check on the status of current or past background checks.
